\\n Psychiatric University Hospital: Postdoctoral position (70-100%) in Alzheimer\\\'s disease clinical and translational research
Neuropsychiatry and Biomarkers of Cerebral Aging (Prof. Dr. J. Popp)
Postdoctoral position in Alzheimer\\\'s disease clinical and translational research 70-100 %
Our research focuses on the early stages of cognitive decline, delirium and persisting neuropsychiatric syndromes in late adulthood and old age. Our main goals are to 1) better understand the pathophysiological mechanisms associated with neurocognitive and neuropsychiatric disorders, and their relevance for the clinical manifestations and the course of disease, 2) identify and validate molecular biomarkers for prediction, early detection and differential diagnosis of cognitive impairment and related neuropsychiatric symptoms and 3) identify risk factors and protective factors of cerebral aging to assess risk and develop approaches for prevention and treatment.
The current projects focus on the integration of multi-omics data with clinical data from an existing cohort as well as a multi-centric cohort with ongoing recruitment and follow-up. The project includes several collaborations with local and international groups and labs.
Your responsibilities
The successful candidate will take a leading role in coordinating ongoing projects and initiate new clinical and translational research within the team of Prof Julius Popp, and collaborate with different national and international partners. The candidate will supervise graduate and master students. In addition, the candidate will substantially contribute to the scientific output of the group by presenting results at international conferences and by publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
