Vice President \\xe2\\x80\\x93 Strategic Consulting Group
Role Description
Reporting to the Senior Vice President Enterprise Strategy & Operational Excellence, this position will be responsible for developing and building the new BMS Strategy Consulting Group that will enable BMS to solve key business challenges across the Enterprise. The Vice President will be a key member of the Enterprise Strategy Leadership Team, supporting strategic and operating model projects across BMS while building the team, operating model, and ways of working for the new group, as well as establishing the group\\xe2\\x80\\x99s reputation and ability to deliver high quality work. BMS Strategy projects will vary in size, duration, and complexity; all will have a significant and measurable impact on the strategic direction and / or growth of the business.
Role Responsibilities
Design, build, hire, and establish the new BMS Strategic Consulting organization: build operating model; recruit and hire team; deliver initial projects to demonstrate value; learn and evolve model to build organization to full scale
Function as a key thought partner and build relationships with senior leadership; create connectivity and promote disruptive thinking
Develop internal talent model and career paths for team members
Identify and build an external network of partnerships that provides perspective on the diverse eco-system outside BMS as it relates to the business; provide perspective on the potential impact of external market signals that could impact business growth and performance.
Deliver high quality work and establish group\\xe2\\x80\\x99s reputation: direct all phases of projects to ensure project execution and deliver on measurable business value outcomes
Partner with BI&A to drive analysis of complex sets of data and business processes.
Independently think through and analyze solutions to problems and develop initial hypothesis, frameworks, and methodologies
Support creation of project communications to drive engagement of key stakeholders and adoption of recommendations and solutions
Create an engaging and inclusive work environment where team members are encouraged to collaborate and develop
Professional Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree in science or business
Minimum of 8-10 years of industry-related experience in pharma or life sciences, including experience in strategy development and/or strategic initiatives
Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders without direct authority
Demonstrated experience in building and standing up a newly formed function or capability
Experience identifying and recruiting top talent
Ability to drive change in the organization to support adoption
Excellent business acumen and experience with budget management
Can translate market dynamics and trends in US and Global biopharmaceuticals and understands the drug development process.
Ability to understand and translate market and competitive dynamics into strategic implications for business units
Demonstrated project leadership, managing small teams of cross-functional colleagues
Ability to work with complex information and distill into a framework that helps facilitate decision making.
Extensive experience supporting cross-functional projects in a global matrix organization
Proficient in communication and presentation skills
