Position Overview: As a Technical Support Associate, you will play a crucial role in our Materials Science Solids Laboratories team, performing a wide range of routine and complex analytical procedures to analyze composite materials in various forms, including liquids, semisolids, and powders. Your work will contribute to the development and innovation of materials science solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilise rheology techniques to characterise flow behaviour, viscosity, and mechanical and thermal stability of materials.
Conduct wetting and adhesion testing, including contact angle measurements and surface tension assessments.
Employ optical microscopy and light scattering analyses (SLS) for precise material characterisation.
Execute routine viscosity tests using various methods, including viscosity and flow curve measurements and dynamic viscosity assessments.
Develop new analytical methods, ensuring high-quality data and documentation in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Independently provide scientific, quality-driven, and timely delivery of analytical data and reports to stakeholders.
Maintain and operate laboratory instruments, ensuring continuous improvement, and evaluating upgrades to align with evolving portfolio requirements.
Actively support innovation initiatives within the Technical Research and Development (TRD) department.
Collaborate closely with the Material Science team to align deliverables and integrate activities.
Qualifications:
Expertise in materials science, with hands-on experience in rheology, wetting and adhesion testing, and optical microscopy.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to perform complex analytical procedures.
Proven ability to develop and implement new analytical methods.
Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Fluency in German is required.
