About the Team We offer the opportunity to join the team responsible for Swiss Re\\\'s hedging and third-party capital management. We are responsible for all retrocession and hedging aspects from strategy to placement and combine structuring, pricing, underwriting, and external marketing in our team.

About the Role For the past 30 years there has been convergence between reinsurance and capital markets. Capital markets investors (such as pension funds, endowment funds, sovereign wealth funds etc.) have been investing in (re)insurance risk through innovative structures combining aspects of both reinsurance and capital markets. This has built a very multifaceted and exciting market environment. From the reinsurance side we call this the Alternative Capital market.
Swiss Re is an innovator in the Alternative Capital market and has been since the market\\\'s inception. Our Alternative Capital Partners\\\' (\"ACP\") group is Swiss Re\\\'s centre of expertise for Alternative Capital. Within ACP the Retro Structuring Team is responsible for determining what risks we want to pass to investors, and we handle everything from setting the Swiss Re Group\\\'s Alternative Capital strategy through to implementing and closing deals. At its core, the team\\\'s role is to find the intersection between Swiss Re\\\'s and investors\\\' needs however in this role you would gain an understanding of: Swiss Re\\\'s capital structure, how Swiss Re manages risk and capital, the Alternative Capital market and the different players and deals that are done.
Key responsibilities
Together with the team, you define and maintain a compelling and clear hedging strategy & vision and prepare documents and reports to senior management
You analyse trends in the Retro and Alternative Capital market and provide market updates to senior management
You interact and collaborate with capital markets investors, reinsurers and brokers
You support the team in negotiating and implementing hedging transactions including structuring, pricing, submission through to placement and administration of the transactions
Furthermore, you work in interdisciplinary teams with a wide range of internal colleagues (ILS, Underwriting, Client Markets, Risk Management, Operations and Finance) on projects and transactions
About You
Do you bring a results-oriented & can-do demeanor? Are you looking to and are comfortable working in an area that is fluid and dynamic?
Minimum of Bachelor\\\'s degree with emphasis in Natural Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or similar analytical field
Broad strategic problem solver with an open mind for innovation and strong focus on execution
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and proactive, strong verbal and written communication skills
Great teammate with staying power, operational readiness, and a passion to perform
Proficient in English
