As a leader in our Design Org, you will lead Design across our entire Legal Practice, from Legal Research through LegalTech as we drive a unified experience for legal professionals.
As the Sr Director of User Experience Design, you are expected to:
Lead Managers, Seasoned Designers and Design teams who are responsible for driving and implementing a design strategies across our most complex applications and problem spaces
Partner closely with product and engineering partners to create unified end-to-end solutions that transcend multiple products/segments while creating and articulate a compelling platform vision for customers
Create technically and financially feasible integrated Design solutions based on a testable NorthStar vision you help create
Create a culture of Innovation through hands on and enablement activities
Socialize and align a wide variety of cross-functional stakeholders to drive decision-making and deliver your creative vision
Define success criteria for product lines and inspire the team to effectively execute
Ensure that the customer voice and Product Vision is embedded across teams and that work is prioritized and trade-offs are made based on customer and business value.
Remove roadblocks as needed and guide team through ambiguity, ensuring decisions are grounded in data
Coach and empower teams \\xe2\\x80\\x93 including outside your own - to deliver outcomes and drive high performance, instilling Thomson Reuters mindsets and behaviors and measuring progress against team OKR\\xe2\\x80\\x99s
Drive innovation and change initiatives
Partner closely with UX Research leadership to help identify iterative improvements in the product.
Extend platform vision across your product portfolio
Evangelize and serve as a spokesperson for the Design organization
Build new teams, attract and develop great talent, and build the next generation of leaders across the Design org \\xe2\\x80\\x93 not limited to your own team

Have a global mindset with significant experience designing and delivering world class digital experiences.

To be considered, you have these qualifications:
15+ years of application/product design experience
5+ years of design leadership/management/team leadership experience
Hands on experience operating at Principal design level or higher
A robust portfolio of previous product design work that illustrates some hands-on work but mostly work performed through your teams. Portfolio showcases a proven track record of solving complex design problems with design led thinking that exhibits a clean, polished design aesthetic coupled with a passion for pixel perfection, consistency, and usability.
Demonstrated success navigating complex organizations and ability to be persuasive/influential with a wide range of diverse audiences.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with high level stakeholders.
A Bachelor\\xe2\\x80\\x99s degree or higher in UX/HCI or related field, or significant equivalent experience
