The Industry Architecture and Passenger Standards team is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive target industry architecture behind key industry transformation initiatives such as the Modern Airline Retailing program, guiding design units responsible for program delivery and managing standards setting activities underpinning the distribution and delivery of airline passenger services from commercial planning to distribution, delivery and settlement.
You will report to the Head of Passenger Standards, and you will be responsible for managing industry standards setting activities carried out by large and diverse community of industry participants. You will assume the responsibility for a portfolio of standards related to airline distribution, offer and order management and establishing new partnerships, and other areas touching traditional and emerging airline distribution standards.
What your day would be like
Organize and manage industry standards setting activities within the portfolio. In collaboration with members, other industry groups and IATA teams, this will include developing standards setting strategy, project managing the delivery and championing industry transformation programs. Act as a Subject Matter Expert on any matter which touches the portfolio. This will include standards emerging distribution models and industry\\\'s move to Modern Airline Retailing, as well as traditional standards supporting interline and indirect distribution (including Ticketing and EMD standards). You will need an excellent knowledge of interline processes and distribution models together with the ability to transition these to support new models. Pro-actively and expertly guide industry participants in the development and analysis of business requirements to enable smooth development of high-quality data exchange standards. Manage day-to-day standards development activities across various groups using IATAs online collaborative environment, web and conference call facilities and face to face meetings. This includes organizing logistics, developing agendas, facilitating meetings and documenting outcomes while ensuring compliance with IATA Provisions and regulatory requirements is maintained at all times. Maintain close relationships with member airlines, Strategic Partners, industry stakeholders and regulators as appropriate on key issues. Collaborate closely with design unit responsible for the industry engagement, implementation and adoption of standards with efficient stakeholder management of Member carriers and system providers. Support CP&S division in developing new products and services and operating industry services mandated by Resolutions; Support the broader Industry Architecture and Passenger Standards team including support for the delivery of the Passenger Standards Conference.

University degree desirable preferably in a commerce, digital transformation, aviation management or an equivalent discipline. A minimum of 10 years of work experience including at least 5 years of experience in the airline industry.
Hands-on experience in transformation / change management projects including requirements discovery, analysis of business requirements and working with large groups of stakeholders to implement the change.
Comprehensive knowledge of airline commercial activities including scheduling, pricing, reservations, ticketing, airport delivery, proration, revenue accounting, commercial interline arrangements, and the commercial objectives of airlines that drive these processes. Knowledge of standards being developed as part of the Modern Airline Retailing program and IATA standard-setting activities is an advantage.
Strong people management and leadership skills; excellent communicator and relationship builder.
Results orientation with the ability to work independently, under pressure to strict deadlines.
