Abbott Established Pharmaceuticals (EPD) is looking for a

Senior Counsel Trademark

for its global Pharma Division Headquarter based in Allschwil- Basel.

Primary Job Function:

This position leads Abbott\\xe2\\x80\\x99s Established Pharmaceuticals Trademark group located in various time zones. The position will manage a large, complex global trademark portfolio across diverse therapeutic areas; proactively advise on branding, trademark, trade dress, copyright and domain name matters. Lead trademark due diligence on a variety of complex multi-national transactions; and review and negotiate contractual provisions related to the Company\\xe2\\x80\\x99s trademarks. The ideal candidate will be an experienced trademark attorney familiar with the generic pharmaceutical business who demonstrates intellectual flexibility and a solid business acumen, judgment and thoughtful, sensitive and persuasive interpersonal skills

Core Job Responsibilities:

Global trademark clearance and prosecution, trade dress issues, copyrights, domain names; licensing and acquisitions; due diligence and enforcement.

Work closely with the marketing, regulatory and other senior management business teams as well as local and foreign counsels and the rest of Abbott\\xe2\\x80\\x99s global trademark team

Functional support complex business transactions

Experience managing personnel at all levels, including attorneys and support staff

Minimum Education:

Law degree

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

Ten plus years of trademark experience

Fluency in English required; fluency in Spanish desired

Excellent team player, with superior inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills

Ability to exercise sound commercial and legal judgement, ability to handle multiple projects

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to lead a diverse, international team

Experience with managing a large budget and interacting with senior managers of a company

Pharmaceutical or life sciences industry a plus
