\\n Within interdisciplinary research team you will further develop spatial models for the optimization of land-use and renewable energy systems in mountain regions. You will include in your consideration the complex biophysical settings in mountain regions as well as the outcome of stakeholder processes and the impact of different land-use decisions on ecosystem services. Furthermore, you will make spatial optimization models and underlying uncertainties accessible for stakeholders and for international partners within the scientific community.
You have a PhD degree in environmental sciences, geo-ecology, geography, or a related field and a profound knowledge on land systems. A big interest in applied questions related to the optimisation of renewable energy systems in mountain regions is important. You are experienced in statistical analysis of large spatial-temporal datasets and preferably in the application of machine learning approaches. The ability to work in inter- and transdisciplinary research teams and the experience in interacting with regional stakeholders in Switzerland as well with international partner institutions are an advantage. You are proficient in presenting and publishing research at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
