\\n You investigate ecosystem effects on different risks in a changing climate and develop innovative methods and tools to quantify ecosystem services and in particular the risk-reduction of ecosystems against extreme events and natural hazards. This contributes to a more targeted and more objective application and prioritization of eco-based measures. You will develop innovative research projects and seek third-party funding. You will carry out research projects independently as well as in collaboration with implementation partners and researchers in and outside of WSL. You will supervise students, publish in international journals, present your research at international conferences, and contribute to its practical implementation. In this way, you significantly contribute to the further development of this research topic on a national and international level.
You have a PhD degree in ecosystem management, environmental sciences, forest sciences or a related field and a profound interest in natural hazards and mountain ecosystems. You have advanced expertise in statistics and spatial analysis. Additional knowledge in modelling and fieldwork-based methods is an advantage. You are used and willing to work interdisciplinary in the interface between natural hazards and ecology/forest science and you are well experienced in publishing scientific articles of high international impact. Furthermore, you are fluent in English and a Swiss national language and enjoy working in a team that operates at the interface between science and practice. Please send your complete application to Jasmine Zollinger, Human Resources WSL/SLF, by uploading the requested documents through our webpage. Applications via email will not be considered. Peter Bebi (phone: +41 (0)81 417 02 73, email: bebi@slf.ch) will be happy to answer any questions or offer further information. The WSL strives to increase the proportion of women in its employment, which is why qualified women are particularly called upon to apply for this position.\\n \\n \\n \\n \\n \\n
