At the Swiss graduate school of public administration (Institut de hautes \\xc3\\xa9tudes en administration publique, IDHEAP) of the Faculty of Law, Criminal Justice and Public administration in the University of Lausanne an 80-100% assistant/Ph.D. position will have to be filled on December 1st or on a date to be agreed upon. The position is part of the Public Finance Research Unit headed by Prof. Nils Soguel. It is assumed that the candidates for this position are willing to start a Ph.D. in public administration at the University of Lausanne. The topics for a Ph.D. thesis are expected to touch upon empirical research in public finance.

Your responsibilities
The successful candidate will enjoy a pleasant working environment and facilities and have access to dedicated programmes of training and continued education. S/he is expected to interact with the members of the faculty in the development of his/her thesis. About 50% of the working time are reserved for his/her thesis. The other half is dedicated to the collaboration in the development of the teaching activities and consultancy work of the Public Finance Research Unit (www.unil.ch/idheap finances publiques).

Your qualifications
- Master\\\'s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Public Administration (or related field) with strong marks - Proven knowledge in the field of econometric data analysis - Inquisitive, accurate, reliable and persistent - Excellent written and spoken French and proficiency in English; German is an advantage - Strong willingness to apply quantitative methods in Public Finance
