IATA\\\'s Sustainability and Economics division works with airlines, regulators and civil society to develop and implement policies, standards, and solutions that support the sustainable development of air transport and mitigate its impact on the environment. You will join the Energy Transition team, which is responsible for defining and maintaining the path to net zero 2050 and ensuring that all related aspects have credible solutions which the industry is able to progress. This covers all aspects of the transition including but not limited to the reliability of fuel supply, the ramp up of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and the transition to new energy solutions. One of our main responsibilities is to contribute to the development and achievement of our strategy for the successful implementation of global regulations for the aviation environment policies.
What your day would be like
You will report to the Head, Fuel and will support and drive the development and implementation of strategies in the fuel operations and digitalization areas and run and deliver on advocacy efforts covering both conventional and sustainable aviation fuels, regarding pricing, charges and fees, supply chain, storage, and supply markets. To do this, close cooperation, dialogue and negotiation with a wide range of stakeholders are required, including airlines\\\' fuel departments, airports, fuel suppliers, and policymakers. The results of these initiatives and campaigns are a major contributor to IATA relevance and value-add to its members and the industry and help deliver the SAF ramp-up, improved service levels, efficiency and cost savings, as well as competitive pricing of supply markets for our member interests. This role includes:
Initiating, leading and delivering IATA advocacy efforts relating to conventional jet fuel and SAF in specific regions, to achieve agreed industry targets.
Developing and leading industry activities and projects relating to fuel infrastructure and operations together with the technical fuel team, in order to improve fuelling safety, efficiency and supply reliability.
Developing and agreeing a clear roadmap to deliver the digitalization and IT standards and tools as required by the aviation fuel community.
Liaising closely with all airline fuel representatives and fuel supplier representatives to ensure IATA leadership or influence to reach desired objectives.
Contributing to the development and delivery of the bi-annual IATA Aviation Energy Forum, webinars and newsletters for airline members and Strategic Partners (SP), including development of content, delivery of sponsorship and attracting new SP members.
Building up information, benchmarking and best practices and determining opportunities and actions to deliver benefits to IATA member airlines.

You have a postgraduate degree or equivalent experience, as well as significant experience working in aviation fuel.
You have a good understanding of commercial, technical and sustainability aspects of aviation fuels.
You have a well-developed analytical skillset, including the ability to propose innovative solutions to complex problems.
You have excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate with people in a multicultural environment in different geographic regions.
Are able to work under pressure on multiple tasks, producing high quality output to tight deadlines and with changing priorities.
Having working experience in an advocacy-related or policy development position, including international standard-setting procedures would be an asset.
