The Legal & ERC Counsel is responsible for providing pro-active, in-depth, business-focused legal advice in all matters that are relevant to Sandoz Switzerland. In addition, the position holder is responsible for establishing, promoting, and reinforcing ethics and compliance standards and programs, aligned with local laws and regulations and company-wide policies while supporting strong risk awareness and high integrity culture.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
As a strong business partner continually provide advice and guidance to the business on legal (e.g., contracts, intellectual property, product liability, data privacy, trade secret, computer crime, litigation, labor issues, patient support programs, disease awareness and other related matters) and compliance (e.g., risk management process, ethical decision-making, compliance culture) topics:
Negotiate, draft and settle contracts (e.g., commercial agreements) in line with business needs
Support and monitor the work of outside legal counsels in managing disputes, litigation and investigations
Collaborate and partner closely with business and other functions to support the compliance risk management process and identify and manage risks in manner that drives the business forward to best serve patients
Establish and foster compliance and legal standards / policies / SOPs based on Swiss law, internal policies and guidelines / implementing procedures
Establish an annual local training plan for Sandoz internal compliance & legal guidelines and conduct trainings and onboardings for employees
Ensure allegations of misconduct are reported in a timely manner and support investigation (where necessary)
Champion speak-up, transparency and a culture of integrity and ethical decision-making throughout the organization as well as tone from the top
Ensure fulfillment with disclosure obligations and manage legal housekeeping (e.g., archiving of contracts, legal SOPs)
In Collaboration with Sandoz IP function, conduct risk assessment regarding IP
Support preparation of internal and external audits & monitorings and remediation of potential findings
Minimum requirements
What you will bring to the role:
Education: Master of Law / bar admission
Fluency in German and English is essential. French language skills are advantageous
Relevant experience as outside counsel/ in-house legal counsel or compliance manager
Excellent verbal and written communications, presentation and advocacy skills
Ability to work cross functionally with strong relationship management skills
Experience in project and process management
Passion for business integrity topics and impeccable integrity track record
Results driven and solution orientated with a focused mindset. \\xe2\\x80\\x9cGet-things-done\\xe2\\x80\\x9d mentality.
