Job Description
About the role:
You\\\'ll provide strategic advice on new initiatives and programs, while applying your understanding of our business and the relevant legal and regulatory framework in the context of Takeda\\xe2\\x80\\x99s values-driven mission to provide thoughtful and solution-oriented legal advice. You will work in collaboration with cross-functional teams in the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asia to review promotional and medical materials, advise on new programs, negotiate and advise on agreements, and support innovative projects. Join Takeda as a Lead Counsel, Vaccine Business Unit where you will be an important partner and provide high quality legal support to Takeda\\xe2\\x80\\x99s Global Vaccine Business Unit (VBU), a fully vertically integrated organization, which is subject to numerous regulations and standards. As part of the Global General Counsel team, you will report to the Head Counsel, Vaccines.
How you will contribute:
Support a broad array of clients; e.g., VBU Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D, Manufacturing & Supply, Quality, Communications, Regulatory, Data Digital & Technology and Market Access
Lead teams of internal and external lawyers and other partners on a variety of projects
Provide advice to support a complex, global and matrixed organization
Collaborate with IP, Compliance, Privacy, Procurement, Finance, and other internal groups to ensure integrated values-based counseling
Analyze legal and commercial risks and advise main company partners on managing such risks in light of Takeda\\xe2\\x80\\x99s values-based mission and in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical codes
Provide contractual support to clients, through contract negotiation and advice; e.g., support of BD, manufacturing, supply, collaboration and license arrangements
Review internal and external materials developed by the Marketing, Communications, Investor Relations, and Public Affairs teams
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in the U.S. or Switzerland/EU
7-10+ years of professional experience with at least some experience in life sciences/pharmaceutical industry, or at a law firm representing pharmaceutical or biotech clients
Broad knowledge of healthcare law, including advertising and promotion, anti-kickback and bribery laws, regulatory policy, life science transactions, and healthcare compliance standards
Experience in supporting vaccines
Some travel will be required
Based in Boston or Zurich (with hybrid role)
