For our client from the reinsurance industry in Zurich, we are looking for a dedicated, well organized and committed professional. It would be a 3 months assignment per asap or start mid October. We are looking for you in a role as: IFRS 17 L&H Actuary (m/f/d) 100% - Specialist role acts as an expert in the area of:IFRS 17 Reporting & Closing - Assumes full responsibility for complex processes, systems, entities or fields of expertise including impact assessment & monitoring, provides advice and manages senior stakeholders across different departments - The specialist monitors external and internal developments, assesses the implementation and liaises / lobbies with internal and external stakeholders - Actuarial Cashflows, Reserves, overall results, Financial Accounting & Closing and is responsible for a subset of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts including full ownership of assigned accounts, deals or processes incl. ledger entries, reconciliation and substantiation - The role ensures closing timelines are met, accounting policies and controls are adhered to. Ensures the effectiveness of Actuarial, Financial Accounting & Closing processes by continuously supporting the development of technical expertise and process improvements - Drives interaction with related roles; IT, Actuarial Valuation, Project / Programmes, Financial Reporting and internal /external auditors - Analyses differences and drives resolution Job Responsibilities:
- Lead mid-sized actuarial projects or work on specific tasks part of larger projects with an impact across the wider business - Support on delivering change programmes to achieve continuous improvement within the business - Support a range of processes and systems to ensure that they are effectively maintained and coordinated - Manage operational risks and influence business decisions by engaging with senior stakeholders - Establish and build relationships with stakeholders to identify business requirements and provide appropriate support and guidance
- Qualified L&H Actuary with deep IFRS17 know how (5 years); IFRS 17 cashflow knowledge and extensive experience
- Real experience of validating IFRS17 valuation engine output (FPSL or other); - Experience with IFRS17 with one of our peers or clients
- Demonstrated seniority in similar roles within the industry or job field; recognized for job relevant expertise in a specific field and demonstrates management ability and leadership potential (e.g. leading projects, working groups)
- Self-motivated and independent; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; strong analytical skills to solve complex tasks and provide advise in area of expertise; able to develop methodology further. Demonstrates commercial awareness in a company wide context. Explains transactional information clearly to non-finance colleagues
- Strong communication (English) written and spoken. - Good project management, influencing and presentation skills
