Your mission :
The Square Kilometer Array (SKA) will be a next-generation radio telescope that will help to answer key questions in astrophysics, drive technological innovation and support human capital development. The SKA Regional Centres (SRCs) will be organisations in SKA member countries which together will provide a collection of both services and infrastructure that will comprise a global capability to distribute, process and curate the data from the SKA telescopes.
The SCITAS platform provides EPFL researchers and partners with access to infrastructure and expertise in High Performance Computing (HPC). SCITAS also contributes to research and development activities so as to maintain the EPFL\\\'s reputation as a leading research facility, including SKA scientific activities.
To strengthen our team, we are seeking an HPC Software Expert. In this role, you will work closely with EPFL researchers to develop and maintain high performance scientific codes in high profile projects such as the Square Kilometer Array.
Main duties and responsibilities include :
HPC scientific application development and optimization in collaboration with EPFL scientists
Scientific software R&D in order to advance the platform technology
Operational support to users when needed
Your profile :
Applicants must have :
A Ph.D. OR a Master\\\'s degree + 3 years of experience in computer/computational science, applied mathematics, or physics
A proven record in HPC and HTC scientific software development
Good knowledge of Python/C/C++
Good knowledge of HIP/CUDA
Good knowledge of workflow architecture with Dask or CWL
Experience with performance profiling tools
Applicants should have :
Demonstrated experience in an academic environment
Knowledge of astrophysics and radio astronomy
French and English at working level
