Head of Pharma Engineering & Capital Project Management

Start date: Immediately

Duration: Unlimited

Place of work: Near the city of Solothurn (hybrid)

This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of multiple projects, diligently managing them from planning through to execution, and ensuring consistent progress tracking and reporting within the engineering and design activities. Throughout the phases from concept to basic and detailed design, the role involves planning, leading, and driving all agreed deliverables to completion, thereby enabling the procurement of all essential equipment and various subcontracts essential for the successful construction of the facility.

Stellenbeschreibung

• Spearhead the execution of engineering tasks for capital projects, encompassing concept development, team formation, and fundamental engineering aspects
• Manage process transfer and optimization, alongside conducting technical and economic evaluations of alternatives
• Oversee scope definition, control, estimating, and scheduling, ensuring adherence to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Lead construction execution, commissioning, and the thorough qualification and validation processes
• Assume comprehensive responsibility for the entire site and manage internal interfaces effectively
• Engage in interaction and coordination with various stakeholders including Engineering Contractor PM, Engineering teams, Designers, Procurement teams, and Subcontractors
• Develop and plan engineering, design, and CQV timelines in collaboration with the Project Planner, assigning work sequences and establishing priorities to adhere to project timelines
• Ensure that all engineering activities and projects are delivered on time and within budget by proficiently leading the entire work scope and resources allocated for a given project
• Provide robust leadership, guidance, and accountability in steering the Engineering and Design activities
• Effectively lead the assigned Engineering & Design Team, ensuring structural and strategic alignment in activities and goals

Erwartetes Profil

• A higher technical degree, with credentials such as MSc, PhD, or BSc
• At least 10 years of validated experience in pharmaceutical and chemical engineering projects or equivalent
• A proven track record of successful delivery in environments involving pharmaceutical engineering, design, and construction activities
• A thorough understanding of technical installations and pharmaceutical processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English and preferably German or another European language
• Confirmed experience and in-depth knowledge in the engineering activities of Capital Projects, particularly on-site in a multi-disciplinary engineering contractor environment
• Excellent partnership and interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional relationships
• Mandatory experience working in the pharmaceutical sector, with familiarity in a GMP environment
• Exhibit robust leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to supervise and lead a large, multi-disciplinary team, especially for major capital
