About the Role
Become Head of Financial Operational Risk Management and take responsibility for providing end-to-end risk oversight of the operational risks for Swiss Re\\\'s Financial processes, both Group and on business unit level. Act as primary relationship manager partner for defined Senior Management in Finance and own the Finance Risk Matrix. You will also lead a team of up to 8 risk professionals responsible for operational risk management oversight of all Group Finance related activities.
Key responsibilities
As a member of management team for Group Functions Risk Management, you will:
Contribute to the continuous development of Swiss Re\\\'s operational risk framework
Support the enforcement of the control framework over financial activities.
Develop and ensure together with the Heads of Group Functions Risk Management the implementation of group-wide operational risk policies, standards, and guidelines; ensure that actions are in accordance with Swiss Re policies to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
Closely coordinate and collaborate with other Chief Risk Officers and embedded Operational Risk Managers.
Engage with industry organizations on operational risk issues and represent Swiss Re\\\'s experience and interests towards regulators, clients, rating agencies and other stakeholders.
Drive their personal development of our teams.
About the team
Group Function Risk Management is a diverse team of senior risk professionals, focusing on the management of operational and execution risk. We are responsible to set the Operational Risk Management Framework, maintain key tools and engage with various stakeholders to identify and address key operational risk across Swiss Re.
About you
You are experienced professional with proven team leadership and management skills. You are also natural collaborator with great communication skills, able to challenge constructively and assertively, with a can-do demeanor, curious and keen to learn. Moreover you can easily assess multiple topics simultaneously and enjoy work in fast paced and new environment.
Essentials
10+ years of experience in the financial services industry with preference for audit or a 1st line accounting role
Solid understanding of financial statements, risks & controls over financial reporting (including automated controls) and the roles of all three lines of defense. IFRS 17 experience is a strong advantage
Knowledgeable in (re)insurance accounting and a good understanding of end-to-end Finance processes.
Solid understanding of risk management and internal control frameworks and methodologies
Demonstrated team leadership and management skills with an inspiring and building dedication, attracting, and developing talent, encouraging inclusion and collaboration, delivering strong results
Proficiency in written and spoken English
