ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a talented and experienced Head of Finance to lead our finance department and contribute to the overall success of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of financial strategies for startups. As Head of Finance, you will report directly to the CEO, with direct visibility of your work to the board of the company. You will play a critical role in guiding our financial decisions, optimizing our financial performance, driving revenue growth and shaping the future of our company.

Tasks

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial strategy and Controlling: Develop and implement the company\\\'s financial strategy, aligning it with the overall business goals and objectives. Provide strategic financial guidance and advice to the executive team to support decision-making and drive business growth. Design and implement effective controlling processes to monitor and manage financial performance.
• Funding: Provide input in terms of non-dilutive funding options and manage relevant applications for specific grants in collaboration with the team.
• HR Management: Take ownership of HR topics, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. Manage HR functions that are not covered by administration or outsourcing, such as talent acquisition, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Financial Compliance: Ensure the company\\\'s financial practices adhere to legal requirements and industry standards. Oversee financial reporting and record-keeping processes to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Tax Filings: Prepare annual financial statements for tax filing purposes, collaborating with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax regulations. Provide necessary financial documentation for tax audits and queries.
• Secretary of the Board: Act as the secretary of the board, organizing board meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes. Maintain effective communication channels with board members and provide financial insights during board discussions.
• Runway to CFO: Demonstrate potential and drive to grow into the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the midterm. Continuously develop your skills and broaden your knowledge to take on more strategic financial responsibilities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor\\\'s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master\\\'s degree preferred).
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a finance and accounting role, preferably in small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or startups.
• Experience in businesses with export aspects, demonstrating a solid understanding of international financial operations and regulations.
• An interest in a diverse portfolio of tasks, including HR responsibilities, showcasing your ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with US subsidiaries is a plus, enabling you to navigate the complexities of financial operations within a subsidiary structure.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and motivate a high-performing team.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Fluency in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
