The General Ledger (GL) Team Lead PC&IA provides direction for the respective General Ledger process team within the FSC and thereafter leading the primary liaison to the respective NTO Business partners, Divisional CFOs and BPA (Business Planning & Analysis) having the oversight of all services provided from the FSC-CH/NGSC. You will ensure accurate reporting of financial information to stakeholders in accordance to IFRS, statutory and Novartis standards & policies. As a key leader you have critical responsibility of managing the team providing GL services to their respective entities and providing the thought leadership to drive improvements and being accountable for superior customer service.
Key Responsibilities: \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Has the operational oversight to provide services at expected levels with a clear customer focus, including handling the exceptions and provides functional guidance from an accounting perspective for business transactions. \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Manage the execution of regional / global strategies for own part of the organization and ensure the development of a team of experienced FSC professionals. \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Manage the country internal financial controls; ensures appropriate compliance and usage by performing regular compliance tests and audits. \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Leads collaboration with key stakeholders, including senior level cross-Novartis entities business colleagues, both accounting authorities/auditors and Novartis local entity/group financial reporting and accounting \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Drives and monitors improvements to sustain a highly effective and efficient accounting and reporting process, and realizes cost reduction opportunities including areas to harmonize and standardize processes \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Actively leads and manages the period-end closing and reporting in accordance with laws and Novartis required standards \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Leads and manages the balance sheet account reconciliations of allocated accounts and ensures timely resolution and cleans of overdue items identified \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Ensures application of agreed Novartis control procedures and actively supports to deliver SOX certification including the promotion of a strong and control environment, follows up on audit issues and implements correcting measures
Minimum requirements
What you\\\'ll bring to the role:
\\xef\\x82\\xa7 University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance or Chartered Accountant / MBA desirable \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Extensive financial experience, with in-depth functional expertise \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Previous experience in managing financial shared services and medium size teams \\xef\\x82\\xa7 SAP knowledge \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Experience in managing projects driving performance improvements \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Profound people skills, leadership exposure \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Fluent in English
Desirable Criteria \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Previous experience in auditing, managing quality for shared services or consultancy \\xef\\x82\\xa7 Lean/ Six Sigma Certified \\xef\\x82\\xa7 German is beneficial (written and spoken
