Overview of the position:

For our client, a large bank in Zurich, we are looking for a Firewall Engineer to join a fun and vibrant team.

This is a contract until August 2024, starting ASAP.

Main responsibilities:

• Global firewall architecture: development of design specifications and further development and lifecycle planning of the firewall, partner VPN and RAS VPN, as well as Intrusion Prevention Service (IPS) environment with the aim of long-term operational stability
• Definition of concepts and technical designs for new or changed customer requirements, as well as the further development of firewall, partner VPN and services
• Development and maintenance of support processes and tools for the global firewall infrastructure
• Configuration and maintenance of authorisation rules for access to security devices
• Maintaining supplier contacts at the operational level with the main suppliers of the firewalls
• Significant collaboration in firewall operation and maintenance of the rule sets
• First and second level support of the firewall, partner VPN and RAS VPNs as well as the IPS infrastructure and Authorisation server

Your expertise:

• Several years of professional experience in the field of Firewall engineering and conception
• Several years of experience in the operation of Fortigate firewalls
• Network knowledge in the area of routing, VLANs and multicast
• Project experience in an international environment
• Distinct methodological competence in analysis and visualisation of complex issues
• Fortigate firewall certificates desirable
• Quick comprehension and a high willingness to learn
• Structured and goal-oriented approach
• Resilient, team player and committed personality with good communication skills
