Finance Analyst

Role can be based from either \\xe2\\x80\\x93 Basel or Milan

ROLE PURPOSE

This role will focus on supporting the Business Controller in analysis and review of business performance through the efficient management of data, upkeep of financial models and presentation information.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Supporting the business with managing data, spreadsheet modelling and routine analysis and reporting

• Support all the monthly closing activities for all the functions based in Basel or Milan in coordination with the accounting team
• Support the budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning process in the preparation, analysis and presentation of P&L information and variations analysis
• Assist with the preparation of monthly/ quarterly business reviews

Responsible for providing cost centre reporting, business planning and partnering services for the budget holders

• Translate financial data into analytical information by partnering with heads of departments on any aspects of financial analysis and planning
• Support any ad-hoc analysis as required

Responsible for bridging the gap between accounting and FP&A to help ensure a complete and accurate monthly financial closing supporting the understanding of any variances to budget and forecast

• Support the weekly, monthly, quarterly upload of actual and planning data to various reporting spreadsheets and systems
• Work with Reporting & Systems Manager to ensure efficient use of underlying datasets to feed internal reports and analysis
• Assist in the maintenance of data structure and mapping of chart of accounts and dimensions across ERP and reporting tools

Technical / Professional Expertise

• Bachelor/Master\\\'s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting, Part or fully ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• 2+ years financial analysis and business partnering experience
• Strong Excel skills to manage large amounts of complex data
• Strong PowerPoint skills to create simplified yet insightful slides
• Pharma experience desirable but not essential
