The Export Controls Senior Analyst will be part of the Trade Compliance team in the Regional Transportation Operations organization. They are responsible for supporting the continued development and deployment of the J&J export control program for EMEA and helping ensure it successfully addresses all material risk areas related to the export control, sanctions, and other relevant trade compliance regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Support organization in processing commodity jurisdiction requests, commodity classifications, and export license applications in a timely manner. Additionally, ensure awareness of the limits of each license.
Provide guidance on laws and regulations pertaining to the export control and sanctions regulations with regards to material transfers, sales, services, and remittances to entities or individuals in embargoed or sanctioned countries.
Conduct training activities related to the classification of products, software, and technology; embargos, sanctions, and special controls; license applications; restricted party screening; antiboycott; and the completion of export documents.
Conduct periodic risk assessments including reviews of the impact of new regulations. Contribute to periodic reporting on export controls to senior management. Participate in reviews and contribute to resolution of export control related incidents.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of Bachelor\\\'s degree or equivalent required
Any Trade Compliance certification preferred
Experience and Skills:
Required:
Minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience
Experience in export compliance including deemed exports, export justification, and classification of complex projects, licenses, and/or technology control plans
Solid understanding and experience with customs and export control classification (such as HS, dual-use classification, etc), and determining license requirements
Proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment and work independently to successfully deliver on objectives and effectively manage multiple priorities
Ability to address complex matters with practical advice and solutions
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to functional leaders in upper management and external partners
Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to adopt learning regulatory requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preferred:
Project Management experience
Experience working in a highly matrixed, global organization
Alteryx, PowerBI, or equivalent data visualization tools or applications
Other:
Requires proficiency in English (verbal and written)
Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel
