EMEA Digital Farming Solutions Senior Engineering Manager (f/m/d)

Role Purpose:

The Digital Farming Solutions (DFS) organization is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer Manager. This Senior Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a community of software development teams that build innovative prototypes for realizing new business concepts. Our product offerings are diverse, used globally, and can span multiple technologies. Senior Engineering Manager will also serve as a people leader to software developers and works closely with product managers, agile coaches, and functional IT organizations to foster a team culture that maximizes value delivery to enable our key business objectives.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for building an effective team and talent pipeline by selecting, attracting, developing, and leading an inclusive team.
• Mentor software developers to raise the overall competency across the organization.
• Serve as an ambassador for the DFS Engineering organization by establishing key relationships outside of the organization, across DFS, and with business stakeholders.
• Champion ways of working and best practices across DFS to promote digital mindset.
• Responsible for alignment of teams with the organizational and program objectives or commitments.
• Create a clear understanding of the needs of all individuals on the team and create development plans to maximize growth and business objectives.
• Provides timely, continuous feedback and coaching to all direct reports.
• Communicates with the appropriate vendors to provide feedback on contractors or SOW engagements.
• Completes monthly financial tracking and forecasting as needed.
• Responsible for delivering high quality products that satisfies customer needs and meets compliance and privacy standards.
• Provides oversight, guidance, and support of all technical practices of teams including, but not limited to technologies such as AWS, Azure, and DevOps practices.
• Understands and embraces agile principles and partner with agile coaches to ensure their development teams are high performing and motivated.
• Responsible for oversight and approval of expense reports incurred by the team members.
• Responsible for representing the connected systems community and able to provide overview of product offerings to interested stakeholders such as vendors and developers looking to know more about the work.

More specifically related to this position, DFS seeks a candidate who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor\\\'s degree in CS, IS, EE or related technical discipline (or equivalent).
• At least 10 years of IT industry or equivalent experience.
• At least four years of people leadership experience and/or project level leadership experience.
• At least two years of experience working with or managing agile teams.
• Software engineering work experience using multiple functional or object-oriented languages (Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript)
• Experience in coding and hands on engagement in reviewing code quality, technical designs, and implementation details.
• Demonstrated experience providing coaching and feedback to bring out the best in your teams, assisting team members with building and executing personal development plans, and providing opportunities for technical mastery.
• Ability to build and support a work culture that encourages team autonomy.
• Ability to operate effectively in environments with a large amount of ambiguity.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
• Ability to effectively lead through change.
• Effective at promoting innovation at every level of the organization.
• Experience managing budget.
• Experience working with managed services providers.
• Embracing and demonstration of agile principles.
• Experience with software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of current technologies and trends including programming languages and cloud technologies.
• Broad understanding of front end, back end, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and DevOps environments and methodologies.
• Agriculture domain knowledge.
