As part of the DTC team at Timberland, the Director of E-Commerce & Digital DTC is responsible for leading the strategic development and sales growth of Timberland EMEA websites and integrated digital businesses. This role requires a proven track record in managing and elevating E-Commerce businesses through implementing innovations in technology, developing teams, financial acumen / planning and successfully implementing international digital operations, merchandising and digital strategies. The objectives of this role are to grow revenue, improve gross margin, maximize operating income, and deliver the best-in-class brand / product online experience across all EMEA websites and acquire new audiences for the future.
How You Will Make a Difference
Manage and develop eCommerce/Digital DTC team ensuring alignment and cohesive GTM initiatives and execution.
P&L accountability for the eCommerce business & Digital DTC across EMEA markets
Define strategies to deliver growth against the eCommerce business & Digital DTC plan and beyond.
Conduct rigorous competitive benchmarking, stay on top of trends, and understand customer behavior online.
Work together with performance marketing, product merchandising and planning team to deliver Direct online, merchandising, customer experience, content, and acquisition strategies to effectively communicate the brand online.
Lead the definition of clear KPIs and metrics that reflect both the strategic goals and tactical initiatives of eCommerce within brand.
Work with VF GBT/ Digital Technology team and peers to define road map and implementation on best digital capabilities to further elevate consumer engagement.
Collaborate with Retail director on the implementation of digital in store capabilities and omnichannel proposition.
Build financial plan partnering with finance dept and DTC planning team.
Drive commercial and merchandising strategy to maximize sales, margin, profitability, inventory turnover to ultimately reach financial success.
Identify risks & opportunities and build business cases to support new initiatives.
Lead and partner top-down planning and forecasting
Lead Go-To-Market process for eComm perspective by aligning with DTC, retail, marketing, brand dept, merchandising.
Lead and influence product content strategy and production.
Partner with digital marketing team to maximize CR and define content needs.
Stay current and up to date on digital merchandising technologies and suggest tools adoption or new features development to improve experience, conversion, team efficiency and time to market.
Work on global and platform cross brands projects
Work on omnichannel initiatives
Skills for Success
A least 6-8 years\\xe2\\x80\\x99 experience in a similar role, better if within the same industry
Education: BA or BS degree in Business, Retail Merchandising, Marketing, or related fields
A senior level e-commerce professional with a demonstrable track record of achievement in management of budgets, developing relationships with third party vendors, team building and development, implementing digital marketing campaigns and influencing product merchandising buying / planning.
Strong communication skills, relationship building and ability to drive change across the business as the e-commerce industry develops.
International experience not required, but beneficial.
Language skills: Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of any other European language (German, French, Spanish, Italian\\xe2\\x80\\xa6) would be a plus.
Deep understanding of Timberland brand with a passion for lifestyle industries
Ability to understand financial measurements and how to impact them.
Strong analytical skills and details oriented, establish facts and draw conclusions.
Self-motivated, flexible and able to handle, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
