About the Role
Be ready to lead, coach and mentor a team of data product owners and business analysts, in order to understand business objectives, design and deliver successful data products. Help team members grow functionally and personally, coordinate HR processes.
Your other key responsibilities:
Steer the Data products portfolio, be responsible for the planning and prioritization process collaborating closely with cross-functional partners (Annual Business Review, Quarterly Business Review): build the annual and quarterly roadmaps, drive the product portfolio towards value delivery, syndicate product priorities across product areas, lead resource planning and optimize against constraints.
Enable a highly performant scaled agile organization, incorporating best practices and improving agile processes.
Continuously measure and make visible the value of our data products (Data Products Business Value Framework), define product success in critical metrics and link them to meaningful Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
Drive the discovery process (ideas funnel), together with the business and technical counterparts, find opportunities, and evaluate data product solutions along business value creation, feasibility, and cost.
Drive data product adoption by user community interaction, systematic measurement of product usage, and through organisational change.
Participate as a member of the Data & Analytics Re Leadership Team and also represent Data & Analytics Re in the D&T P&C Re and D&T L&H Re Leadership Teams.
About the Team
The Data Product Owner & Engagement CoE is a team of highly qualified data & analytics professionals, committed to maximize delivered value from data products for our business, through an effective Strategy to Execution process, value measurement and cross-functional teamwork. The team is responsible for the data product lifecycle, product specifications, business analysis and provisioning of data products for their embedding into the business application landscape.
Our unit is composed of an international workforce based in different locations and serving a global customer basis, with a large part of our leadership located in Zurich.
About you
You possess a strong product management competence, team leadership, with data & analytics knowhow and keenness to comprehend business needs across the reinsurance value chain.
Always looking for learning and continuous improvement, both of yourself and your team members, perform well on time-critical endeavors and enjoy to communicate on different levels of seniority.
Essentials
Track record of over 7 years of hands-on experience with large, complex delivery organizations and development of digital solutions or management consulting.
A university degree in technical field (engineering, computer science) or in business with complementary technical experience.
Strong experience in a multifaceted data product leadership role, steering product and/or initiative portfolios with robust prioritisation frameworks. Demonstrated success in being responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle.
Consistent ability to deliver successful data products that the users love. Experience creating product roadmaps, from inception to launch. Ability to gauge the pulse of the user and drive the desirability of the product, with direct and data-driven methods.
Experience leading cross-functional collaborators and multiple user communities.
As a leader, able to empower teams and help individuals grow. Experience building or leading a high-performance (data) product team is preferred.
Familiarity with data engineering and data platforms (e.g. Azure Analytics Stack, Palantir).
Excellent verbal and written English skills.
Nice to have
An agile certification (e.g., Product Owner, Scrum Master, Agile Project Management, Kanban) and/or the equivalent hands-on experience in operationalizing scaled agile frameworks
