The Institute of Nursing Science (INS) at the University of Basel ( ) invites applications for a PhD position or for a research assistant position to join a national implementation program in the residential long-term care setting. The INS is ranked in the top 50 for Nursing worldwide (Shanghai Ranking 2022).
The position will be anchored in the NIP-Q-UPGRADE program, commissioned by the Federal Quality Commission to ARTISET with the industry association CURAVIVA and senesuisse and implemented in collaboration with the INS, the Institut et Haute \\xc3\\x89cole de la Sant\\xc3\\xa9 La Source and Scualo universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana. The main aims of the program are to improve the data quality of the existing national quality indicators in residential long-term care, to foster data-based quality improvement and to develop and introduce new quality indicators.
Your position
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Apply implementation science methodology working in different sub-aims of the programme
Work with both quantitative and qualitative data methods
Disseminate research results through presentations at conferences and publications in peer reviewed journals
As PhD student:
Achieve a PhD within the usual timeframe of 3-4 years
Supervise and support Master students
Participate in teaching activities of the Master in Nursing Science curriculum
Your profile
Master degree in nursing science, public health, psychology, sociology, medicine, health economics or a related field with outstanding grades
Experience in long-term care is highly desirable
Sound knowledge of basic office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint)
Sound methodological and statistical skills, knowledge of statistical analysis software such as R or STATA, or the willingness to strengthen these skills and knowledge
Strong planning, organizational and communication skills, ability to work successfully in an interprofessional team
Good project and self-management skills to meet project (and PhD) deadlines and deliverables
Fluent in German (level C2 at the start of position or mother tongue)
Good oral and written English skills
